Open Research Data (ORD) has gained momentum in the past five to ten years as a movement to make the products of government-funded research available to the general public. The current requirements for SNSF-funded projects are that data associated with articles are published on public repositories and align with the FAIR principles: findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability.
Open Research Data - NCCR Network Ventures is a series of three joint NCCR meetings on open science and open research data, to be held in Zurich, Lausanne, and Basel, featuring presentations and practical workshops by experts and researchers who have developed methods for practicing various aspects of ORD.

Our meetings will explore different stages in the Data Life Cycle. The many ways to manage research data may seem overwhelming, but this cycle can guide researchers so that each step flows into the next. Participants will see practical examples of individual stages, as well as demonstrations of how the cycle works overall.
National Centres of Competence in Research (NCCRs) are a research instrument of the Swiss National Science Foundation with the aim to strengthen Swiss research in areas of strategic importance for the future of Swiss science, business and society. The programme seeks to promote research projects of the highest quality with a particular emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches, but also on new, innovative approaches within the disciplines.
